This one-of-a-kind live edge redwood burl slab showcases the rich character and dramatic figuring prized in coastal redwood. Measuring 22 inches by 9 inches and 3 inches thick, it features an organic, irregular silhouette with rugged live edges, natural voids, bark inclusions, and sculptural contours that reflect the tree’s wild growth.
The surface displays deep reddish-brown heartwood with swirling burl figure, tight curl, flame-like grain, and clustered burl eyes that create depth and subtle movement. Darker inclusions and textured areas add further contrast and authenticity. Shown lightly misted with water in the photos to reveal its saturated color and potential chatoyancy, the slab is currently raw and unfinished—ready for sanding, oiling, sealing, or epoxy work to bring out its full beauty.
Ideal for:
Compact live-edge side table, coffee table accent, or console top (pair with hairpin legs, a metal base, or custom wood supports)
Floating shelf or wall-mounted statement piece
Abstract wall art or decorative panel
Smaller custom projects such as a serving board, tray, or sculptural accent (with appropriate food-safe finishing if used for serving)
Each redwood burl is unique; this piece’s compact size, bold organic shape, and intense figuring make it especially suited to projects that celebrate natural imperfections and forest character.
