About Our Products
Redwood Burl, Inc. proudly provides high-quality raw and finished wood products and outstanding service. Custom orders require a 50% deposit to secure production and materials, with the remaining balance due upon completion and before shipping. In-stock items typically ship within a few days after any custom finishing.
We are not liable for delays caused by shipping carriers or third-party vendors, and we do not provide warranties for third-party products, such as table legs, mounting brackets, etc.
Intellectual Property
The Site and all its content, including but not limited to text, images, designs, software, source code, databases, and logos (collectively, “Content”), as well as trademarks and service marks (“Marks”), are owned by or licensed to Redwood Burl, Inc. These are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Without our prior written consent, you may not reproduce, distribute, modify, display, or exploit any part of the Site, Content, or Marks for commercial use. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Site and download or print Content for personal use only. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Redwood Burl, Inc.
Purchases and Payments

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete payment and account information when making purchases. You must promptly update your account details, including email, payment method, and card expiration dates, to ensure seamless transactions. Sales tax will be applied as required by federal and state laws. Prices are subject to change without notice, and all payments must be in U.S. dollars. You authorize Redwood Burl, Inc. to charge your selected payment method for all purchases, including applicable shipping fees. For recurring charges, you consent to automatic charges without prior approval for each billing cycle until cancellation.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors, even after payment is requested or received, and to refuse or limit orders at our discretion, including orders from the same account, payment method, or shipping address.
Shipping and Handling
We offer shipping within the 48 contiguous United States. In-stock items ship within 3 business days, while custom orders typically ship within 14–21 business days. Delivery times for in-stock items are typically 5–10 business days after shipping. Tracking information will be provided via email within 3 business days of shipment. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by third-party shipping services. Small packages (under 150 pounds) ship via ground with a signature required. Larger shipments (over 150 pounds) use freight services (LTL), also requiring a signature. Liftgate service is available for shipments under 90 inches long and 800 pounds at no additional cost. For larger or heavier shipments, you are responsible for arranging equipment or manpower to unload, as this is not provided by the carrier or Redwood Burl, Inc. You must inspect shipments upon delivery and note any damage on the bill of lading (BOL) before signing. If damage is evident, contact us immediately at sales@redwoodburl.com (mailto:sales@redwoodburl.com) or call us at (707) 826-9663 while the driver is present, and provide photos of the damage, packaging, and BOL. Refuse severely damaged shipments and notify us promptly. Failure to note damage on the BOL before signing voids liability claims against Redwood Burl, Inc. Retain all packaging materials for claims processing. We will assist with filing claims, but we are not liable for carrier-related issues. White glove delivery or in-home setup may be available in select areas—contact us for details. We do not offer expedited shipping. Orders placed after 12 p.m. CST, on weekends, or holidays are processed the next business day. We do not ship or deliver on major U.S. holidays, including New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Additional holidays (Columbus Day, Veterans Day) apply for PO/APO/FPO addresses.
Custom orders require a 50% deposit to initiate production, with the balance due before shipping or delivery. Wood surfacing and shop services are billed at $250 per hour, with a 3-hour minimum deposit. Additional hours beyond the estimate are billed upon completion. Cost-plus projects require a project-specific deposit, with weekly draws billed as work progresses and the balance due before installation. Change orders incur material costs plus the current shop hourly rate. Unpaid balances after 7 days of project completion accrue 1.5% daily interest. Custom orders are non-refundable, and we do not guarantee stain matching due to natural variations in wood color and grain. Samples reflect finish quality, not exact color. We are not liable for supplier or shipping delays, and a $200/week storage fee applies to items not collected or shipped within 7 business days of completion. Returns and Refunds of In-stock merchandise (raw wood, etc.) may be returned within 30 days of delivery for an online credit voucher, provided it is unused, in its original condition, and in the original packaging. Ship returns to Redwood Burl, PO Box 1168, Arcata, CA 95518. You are responsible for return shipping costs, and original shipping and transaction fees are non-refundable.
The following items are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange:
- Discounted or sale items
- Lumber, live edge wood, stumps, logs, or materials sold “as is”
- Gift cards
- Personalized or custom orders
- Wood countertops
- Items damaged during shipping (see shipping section)
- Products delayed or lost by carriers
Upon receiving your return, we will notify you via email regarding approval or rejection. Approved returns may result in an exchange, a non-transferable online credit (valid for 60 days), or another remedy at our discretion, minus shipping and transaction fees. Do not return third-party manufactured items to their manufacturer, as this voids any refund or credit from [Your Company Name]. Defective items are covered under our warranty or shipping damage policies.
Transaction Fees
All transaction, merchant, credit card, bank, or wire transfer fees are non-refundable once an order is placed.
Order Cancellations
Custom orders cannot be canceled, and deposits (50% of order value) are non-refundable to cover labor, materials, and merchant fees. In-stock online orders may be canceled within 24 hours of placement if not yet shipped, subject to a 15% non-refundable processing fee. Orders already shipped cannot be canceled. We reserve the right to cancel orders due to website errors or discontinued items, with a full refund issued upon cancellation. Orders are not fulfilled until payment is received.
Storage
If delivery delays occur due to construction or other circumstances, we can accommodate by storing your order. In-stock items are stored free for 14 days, after which a $50/day fee applies for single items (multiple-item fees quoted separately). For custom orders, notify us at least 4–6 weeks in advance to reschedule production and avoid storage fees. We aim to ship custom orders upon completion, but we can adjust schedules with sufficient notice, keeping your project prioritized without additional charges.
Warranty
Redwood Burl, Inc. warrants its handmade rustic furniture for one year from purchase, covering the original purchaser for defects in materials. This warranty applies only to products purchased directly from Redwood Burl, Inc. and excludes third-party products (e.g., mounting brackets, metalwork, etc.), which are covered by their manufacturers’ warranties. Outdoor furniture, raw wood (e.g., lumber, slabs, stumps), or items exposed to excessive moisture, dryness, or sunlight are not warranted.
To file a warranty claim, submit a written request to Redwood Burl, Inc., PO Box 1168, Arcata, CA 95518 or sales@redwoodburl.com (mailto:sales@redwoodburl.com) within one year, including photos or agreeing to an inspection at our discretion. If a defect is confirmed, we will attempt to repair the item. If repairs are not feasible, we will replace it with a similar piece, though natural wood variations (color, grain, knots) prevent exact matches.
Defective items must be returned to Redwood Burl, Inc. before replacements are shipped, with shipping costs borne by the customer. This warranty does not cover neglect, abuse, pet damage, scratches, scuffs, burns, watermarks, or normal wear. Sunlight, harsh chemicals, or improper humidity (recommended: 37–40%) may damage furniture and void the warranty. Use only Redwood Burl-approved cleaning products to maintain your furniture’s finish. Natural wood characteristics (e.g., cracks, blemishes) are not defects. Redwood Burl, Inc. is not liable for incidental or consequential damages beyond the furniture itself. Implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are disclaimed where permitted by law; some jurisdictions may not allow such exclusions.
Furniture Care
Our furniture is crafted from live edge wood slabs with natural characteristics like cracks, twists, and unique grains, which are not defects. We use durable hard wax finishes with UV protection, but all wood is sensitive to sunlight, moisture, heat, and dry air. Maintain indoor humidity at 37–40% to prevent cracking or warping. Clean with Redwood Burl-approved products to preserve the finish. Avoid outdoor use or storage, as this voids the warranty. With proper care, your furniture will endure for generations.
Shipping Damage
Inspect all shipments upon delivery. For ground shipments (under 150 pounds), note any damage before signing or refuse the package. For freight shipments (over 150 pounds), document damage on the BOL and take photos of the item, packaging, and BOL. Contact us immediately at [Your Phone Number] to report damage. Retain all packaging materials, as failure to do so may void claims. We will assist with filing claims and arranging repairs or replacements, but we are not liable for carrier-caused damage or losses. Signed deliveries without noted damage are considered accepted in good condition.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, and disputes will be resolved through mediation in Eureka, CA. Each party is responsible for its own legal costs.
